laissez les bon temps rouler
Let the good times roll-
I feel it is completely appropriate that these girls are going to born on Fat Tuesday, but it slightly scares me to death. Are children wilder if they are born on Fat Tuesday? Yes, we're going to have to girls by the end of today! How did we get here? I came to the hospital last week with flu like symptoms. Luckily no flu, but they did find protein in my urine so I was once again given the diagnosis of preeclampsia. I was discharged on Saturday, and told I would be closely monitored on an outpatient basis.
Kent and I had a perfect date night Saturday night, and we had a great night with Parker on Sunday (he had been at the lake since Thursday). When we went to the office appointment Monday, it was pretty uneventful. The ultrasound went great, and we even got a 3D picture of Addison. I told Kent I hated we couldn't get one of Sybil, but he reminded me that their identical so her picture would look the same. When they took my blood pressure, it was to the point that they did not feel comfortable sending me home. So, off to triage we went. We honestly were prepared to sit here for a week, and deliver next week, but I guess there were other plans in play. They completed bloodwork when we got here, and my kidney function had decreased since Saturday. Therefore, it is time for delivery.
I am scheduled for a c-section today at 2. I feel completely confident in the plan the team has. I'm a little sad my doctor is not here today, but understand that he gets days off too. The NICU is ready and waiting for them to move in, hopefully for a short visit. I wanted to post an update because the next 24 hours will be a blur- literally because I have to be on magnesium for 24 hours.
Caroline sent me this verse last night, "Therefor do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34" This will me my motto for today to take my worries away. Can't wait to finally see these two girls!
And here's what Parker's up to while we're in the hospital.
